According to the news published by “Petrotahlil”, petrochemical products market has a new record after currency fluctuations and unbridled increase.
From one hand, the security atmosphere in the petrochemical market and arresting of some petchem and currency market speculators specially in Iraq and Afghanistan has affected the market and some high profile materials like PVC. And in the other hand, export currency recursion rules from export markets in Iraq and Afghanistan has led this record to be continued in downward trend. Although 60% of Iran PVC market has export potential, but lowering the production rate at about 10-20% of nominal capacity in this sector and export suspension by producers due to government force for earned currencies’ recursion has caused the deepening of the PVC price record that is continuing to decline.
In this respect and due to market repose, PVC prices have reached to Rls. 78,000 this week which seems could be the lowest price after several weeks, though in the Asian markets the trading rates for PVC rate are increasing by 10 US$. Meanwhile material dealers in the PVC market are speaking about banning of exporting rates of PVC by complexes like BIPC, ARVAND, GPC, ABADAN petrochemicals, that are main producers of this material. At the same time, though ARVAND PC will also enter into overhaul phase since the end of November but due to market stagnation it doesn’t seem that ARVAND overhaul can make any significant change in Iran PVC market.
This week at the IME hall, companies like Arvand, GPC, BIPC, and ABADAN petrochemicals supplied 8074 tons of PVC by the rate of Rls. 64,320 for grade 65, out of which eventually 3,848 tons were purchased by dealers. However the PVC grade S57 supplied by Abadan PC, interested more from the shortages in domestic market, and somehow it’s 500 tons of supply by the base rate of Rls. 69,470 IRR, sold out by the rate of Rls. 93,760.
