Today, Sunday, Dec. 09th, 2018, the Office for the Development of Downstream Petrochemical Industries (PDID) of NPC announced its basic prices for polymer and chemical products (petrochemicals) for one week until Dec. 16th, 2018. Here’s a look at the new base prices of polymers for this week:

According to the report by Plastic Industry Media network, this week, unlike last week’s prices, which rose by a whopping 8% on the US$ value in the official currency website (NIMA), the prices were mostly decreasing, although in some commodities and special grades, we also saw a rise in prices. The value of the US$ for this week fell by about one percent (accurately, 0.8%) in comparison with last week and dropped by Rials 7000, however unlike last week, oil prices increased this week, which led to the incremental prices of some polymers internationally.
The two groups of bottle PET and PVC were facing increasing prices.
PET base price rose in the range of 4.9% to 5.1% in its various grades, so that the most expensive PET bottle grade of the bottle was priced Rls. 106,304/Kg. But the PVC group experienced a slight price increase of about 0.3%.
Unlike the short-term list of market uptrend, a larger number of grades were present in the downturn trend of the market, so that this week, prices could be reduced overall.
The highest drop in this week was recorded for the blowing HDPE, which was up 5.5% higher than last week’s base prices, causing the price per kilogram of this product to reach more than Rls. 86,000, but showing a falling by more than Rls. 5,000/Kg. Subsequently, the film grade F7000 of HDPE and X5 dropped by 4.8% compared to the last week, with the highest base price decline. The HDPE film fell by about Rls 4,450/Kg.
Textile grade of PP was the third commodity, with highest price drop of 4.6% compared to the last week and its price reached to Rls. 92,435 Rials.
