Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has unveiled six new nuclear products. The unveiling happened on April 9 on the National Nuclear Technology Day in the presence of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
These advancements span diverse fields, including the nuclear fuel cycle, radiopharmaceutical production, healthcare, and industrial applications of nuclear technology.

In healthcare, the AEOI unveiled the diagnostic radiopharmaceutical, Gallium FAPI, capable of detecting over 30 types of cancer, and the therapeutic radiopharmaceutical, Lutetium FAPI, designed for targeted treatment of advanced cancers. The innovative skin cream “Rhenium-188” was another achievement that’s used for treating common skin cancers.
In the industrial sector, a breakthrough has been made through producing Cobalt-57 sources for well logging, previously monopolized by a few countries.

Other unveiled products include D4 Deuterated Methanol, used in petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and advanced imaging technologies like NMR, as well as the strategic compound Diethylhexyl Phosphoric Acid (D2EHPA) for extracting valuable metals like uranium, nickel, and cobalt.
During the unveiling ceremony, President Pezeshkian hailed the efforts of scientists to advance Iran’s technological programs.
