The First After JCOPA Transportation Conf
“Open-Iran” a group founded and heading by an international lawyer from a well known family within the Iranian Jusidiary System (Dr. Siamak Goudarzi) and composed of expert lawyers and advisors has announced the organization of the first after Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCOPA) conference to be held in Tehran on April 27-28th 2016.
The Conference established by the Russian “International Business Forum” (IBF) group will focus on one of the most important key elements of all global businesses: Transportation.
As it is titled, the “Heavy Iran 2016” aims to brightly discuss the opportunities and information about the Iranian Transportation systems and possibilities during this first internationally managed and organized conference in cooperation with “Open-Iran” Group.
Regarding the so called Conference, IBF website mentions:
“International isolation of Iran has been putting serious bounds on development of its entire economy, including machine building, shipping, textile industry, pharmaceuticals, and brought about high levels of inflation and unemployment. But in the near future all sanctions against Iran may be lifted, and almost USD 150 billion on bank accounts will be released. The country is awaiting a real investment boom not only in oil and gas sector, but in all spheres of economy, including machine building, construction and heavy industry. Unfrozen assets will be directed to upgrade the economy, as long-term blocking of investments has led to technological deceleration. At the moment, oil recovery factor of Iranian fields is one of the world’s lowest. Nevertheless, execution of 67 petrochemical projects is now ongoing in Iran, including construction of the Persian Gulf Star refinery with the capacity of 360 thousand barrels per day. It is expected that by 2020 Iran will have taken 41% of the petrochemical market of the whole Western Asia (Near and Middle East).
Need for industrial modernization will result in considerable volume of project cargoes. In the next few years Iran may become a leader in utilizing services in the field of transporting and installing out-of-gauge and heavy items among the Persian Gulf countries”
And per the Conference agenda, the main topics will cover:
- Potential of Iranian transport infrastructure (ports, roads, bridges)
- Sharing practice of delivering project cargoes in the direction of Iran
- Particulars of state regulation of the transport sector
