The European Coating Show 2017 a Great Event Happening now in Germany: European Show Coating 2017 is one of the greatest events right now happening in Nuremberg-Germany till April 6 with a lot of interesting expositions for visitors. The news of the Conference are published here at PIMI Portal based on specialty PRs sent to us directly by the exhibitors. The first series of PR’s belong to “Sun Chemical” a member of DIC group. Here you are with what the “Sun Chemical” is exposing at this event.
1.Two New DIC Corporation Resins Creates Premium Look for Automotive Interior Plastics
Designed to create a premium look for automotive interior plastics, two new resins developed by DIC Corporation and delivered by Sun Chemical Advanced Materials have been launched at the European Coatings SHOW 2017.
The new WATERSOL AC-7505 resin provides a desirable metallic finish on automotive interior plastic without a clearcoat. The 2K chemistry offers the chemical resistance needed in a single layer system, reducing complication in coating application and at the same time passing the industry’s most demanding sunscreen tests.
Combining WATERSOL AC-7505 with Sun Chemical’s Benda-Lutz® SPLENDAL vacuum metalized flake pigments can produce luxurious finishes for inlays, bezels, handles, trim and other automotive interior plastic parts.
Benda-Lutz SPLENDAL offers four unique, microscopically-thin aluminum platelet suspensions produced via physical vapor deposition. These vacuum metallized pigments range from a brilliant clean “white” to intense dark chrome reflections and are available in multiple solvents for almost every coating application. The SPLENDAL pigment range finds widespread application for premium consumer electronics, automotive interiors, and automotive wheels.
Also on display at Sun Chemical booth located in Hall 4, Stand 4-353, is a new second-generation solventborne acrylic polyol DIC technology delivered by Sun Chemical called WRU-429 which provides improved self-healing as well as scratch and mar-resistance. WRU-429 exhibits outstanding adhesion to ABS and polycarbonate, and provides automotive interior coatings with superior DEET and sunscreen resistance.

2. New FINEPLUS® HM Adhesive Technology
During the European Coatings SHOW 2017, Sun Chemical Advanced Materials introduced the newest addition to the FINEPLUS® HM reactive adhesives product line from DIC Corporation.
The newest addition to the popular FINEPLUS product range is a solvent-free 2K reactive hotmelt adhesive designed to adhere to laminate furniture, metal, plastics, textiles and glass that replaces solvent-based hotmelt adhesive chemistries. Ideal for improving environmental performance, ease of use, and reliability in automotive assembly, the full portfolio includes amorphous, crystalline and liquid versions of the high-quality polyester polyols for reactive adhesives.
FINEPLUS HM adhesives have been used for ship construction, to airplanes, the automotive and packaging industry as well as to medical applications requiring continuous developments of adhesive systems.
3. launching of new Quindo® Magenta 202 pigment
Sun Chemical’s newest quinacridone pigment delivers highly pigmented bases in low-VOC, high-solid coatings. Suitable for water and solventborne systems, Quindo Magenta 202 enables excellent styling for highly transparent and chromatic effect shades has excellent durability and fastness properties for automotive and high-performance coatings. Its low rheology provides easy formulating using one product for all systems.
As the market leader in quinacridone pigments, Sun Chemical offers the widest color index on the market with color options ranging from the brilliant orange shade of Fastogen Super Red 209 to the red shade Violet 55 for use in every coating industry.
4. BURNOCK® AC 2530 Polyol Resin for Air Dry Curing Systems
The new acrylic polyol for air dry melamine technology from Sun Chemical’s Advanced Materials division brings the same performance properties widely desired from a stoving system to an air dry system. There are no baking ovens required and no pot-life limitations with the BURNOCK AC 2530 polyol while providing the same durability as heat-cured systems.
“BURNOCK AC 2530 is yet another example of Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation’s commitment to bringing our customers high quality solutions that improve production processes,” said Mike Venturini, Marketing Director, Coatings, Sun Chemical. “Stoving processes are the standard for OEM applications for durability, scratch and chemical resistance, but it is challenging for large parts and temperature sensitive substrates to be stoved. The cost of energy to bake a paint at high temperatures is enormous. Our new polyol technology brings stoving performance to an air dry system, delivering our customers an environmentally friendly, durable and reliable acrylic resin to their coatings.”
BURNOCK AC 2530 acrylic polyols allows for on-site repair or maintenance coatings and means less capital for starting an assembly line.
5. Newest Azo Yellow Pigment
Sun Chemical’s newest Azo yellow pigment for architectural coatings was developed specifically for decorative coatings producers and the needs of machine colorants. Easier to disperse than previous grades, Sunbrite Yellow 74 pigments deliver 15 to 20 percent more tint strength than comparable products.
Highly desired by formulators because of its color point for existing and new VOC-free colorant systems, Sunbrite Yellow 74 saves customers time and money, and offers stronger lightfastness compared to other low cost diarylide yellow pigments.
