According to the report from PIMI delegate:
The global industry players eagerly await the opening of K 2016, the flagship plastics and rubber industry event that will kick off on October 19 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
3,285 exhibitors from all continents will introduce their latest development, occupying a net exhibition area of 173,966sqm in all 19 halls of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center.
Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President and CEO of the organizer Messe Düsseldorf, said at a press conference prior to the show’s opening: “Tomorrow the world’s biggest plastics factory will start operating in Düsseldorf! We again expect over 200,000 trade visitors from around the globe to capitalize on the opportunities provided by K 2016.”
The exhibitors at K 2016 hail from 61 countries. The German plastics and rubber industry is represented with 1,039 exhibitors on 68,036sqm occupying just under 40% of the total exhibition space. This means that exhibition space occupied by domestic companies has grown by nearly 1,500sqm against the previous event in 2013.
At the same time, the K Show clearly reflects the changes global markets are undergoing – the number of companies from Asia has been rising substantially for several years now as has their stand size.
Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the Advisory Board of K 2016, firmly counts on K 2016 to generate fresh impulses: “It will be interesting see the innovations the exhibitors have in store! Centre stage will be energy, resource and material efficiency, new materials, lightweight construction and – this is probably the most exciting topic – Industry 4.0. This area will provide highly interesting ranges at the exhibitors’ stands at K 2016 and inspiring lectures and discussions.”
