The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) President & CEO Tony Radoszewski, the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) President Carol Hochu and the Asociación Nacional de Industrias del Plástico (ANIPAC) President Aldimir Torres Arenas issued the following joint statement after meeting about the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
“The plastics industry of North America has stood together throughout the process of negotiating the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), working closely within our organizations and with policymakers to ensure the creation of a strong trade agreement. As a result, the USMCA would greatly benefit the economies and plastics industries of all three member nations and the millions of employees it supports.
As the leaders of the North American plastics industry, we applaud the Mexican Senate for ratifying the agreement and urge the U.S. Congress and Canadian Parliament to ratify this agreement as soon as possible. Our citizens and our industry need the USMCA, which will provide us the certainty we need to invest in new technologies, hire more workers and embrace sustainable growth throughout the continent.”
