Lack of Ethylene Resulted in Material Deficit
Samara (Russia): According to a report sent by “PIMI Russian Correspondent” lack of Ethylene resulted in compelled stop of one of the greatest producers of PVC raw materials in Russia. The report says:
Because of a stop of Sayanskkhimplast there was a deficit of PVC of 85 thousand tons
“Sayanskkhimplast” a leading producer of PVC in Russia as a result of the compelled stop on March 14, 2016 hasn’t let out 45 thousand tons of the caustic soda and 85 thousand tons of PVC; raw materials for production of PVC of profiles, reports the WINDOW portal of MEDIA. The stop of production is connected with the termination of deliveries of basic raw materials – ethylene.
As the reason of a stop of production accident on “Angarsk” polymer plant (JSC Angarsk Petrochemical Company) therefore Sayanskkhimplast was left without basic raw materials for production of PVC has served. It is supposed that Angarsk polymer plant will begin the work at the end of May again.
Failures with deliveries of raw materials are not only in Russia, but also in Europe. For example, the French company Kem One, the third largest producer of PVC, because of problems with deliveries of raw materials is forced to lower PVC output in March of the current year. Force majeur situations in such global enterprises can affect price policy of suppliers of raw materials for profile PVC production current spring.
